Pottery is Food-Safe!

Note: All of
our pieces are high fired and food safe. They are sturdy just like typical
pottery. They just look more delicate. Ninety percent of the time we use
porcelain clay. Porcelain is the hardest clay to work with but we like using it
because of its white finish. The white finish allows the lace patterns to show
through our breaking glazes. The main problem with porcelain is the warping.
Because we hand build our pieces and we use porcelain, slight variations in
color and size are to be expected. We do everything we can to keep warping to a
minimum but most pieces do have some minor warping which ads to the character
and uniqueness of each piece.
