New Direction for
World Renowned Crocheter’s Focus
Best known for her
extraordinary crochet designs and the brand Maggie’s Crochet, Maggie Weldon has
taken her 25 years of crochet experience in a new direction with Lace Pottery. Weldon’s
new path all began while taking pottery classes with her daughter. "No
matter how hard I tried I could never get the hang of the wheel. Luckily
there was another way!” Weldon says of her pottery experience. Each piece of
pottery is handmade in her Kernersville, NC studio using fine porcelain clay
and crocheted doilies. The doilies are pressed into the clay and removed before
fired in a kiln. All pieces are food-safe and can serve either as functional
dining pieces or ornamental treasures.
Due to the distinctive craft
of hand building, each piece is one-of-a-kind and limited edition. Anyone in
the market for a unique piece of ceramic art, whether it’s a consumer,
collector or gallery owner, will appreciate the handcrafted elegance of Lace
Pottery. Each piece is stamped with Weldon’s signature and comes with a
certificate of authenticity to prove its validity.

Lace Pottery Gallery in
If you love pottery and
crocheted lace, you will fall in love with the sister company to Maggie’s
Crochet, Lace Pottery. Started in 2002, the full potential of the business was
not realized until 2006 when the full product line was established. Each piece
of pottery is hand crafted in the Kernersville, NC studio and is food safe. The
pieces can be functional or ornamental and are always elegant.
